What about copyright?

General Copyright Policies: Copyright issues in this digital age are very complex and changing rapidly. For educational, non-commercial use it’s typically acceptable to use material as long as you properly cite the source.  A good overview of the issues has been published by the Congressional Budget Office and can be found at:
http://www.cbo.gov/showdoc.cfm?index=5738&sequence=0

NEAT Copyright Policy:  As a component of our FIPSE-funded project, we are investigating several questions regarding the usability of LOs by educators. For this reason we ask anyone using a NEAT LO to participate in evaluation studies.  If you agree to actively participate in our studies, you will be granted unlimited use of our LOs. All of your responses will be considered confidential information.

The NEAT products have been created by NEAT project staff at the University of Wisconsin – Madison and paid content experts. This is considered "work for hire" under University of Wisconsin policies, thereby granting the Board of Regents of the University of Wisconsin the copyright for the products, with content experts having unlimited license to use the intellectual property.
